South of Addis Ababa is rich and diverse in culture and traditions. There are many cultural sights and tribal experiences in Southern Ethiopia.
- Suri tribe is in a remote area and not in close distance to the Lower Omo Valley tribes. Staying here includes bush camping as there are no tourist facilities. If you are planning on visiting the Suri tribe make sure you allow enough time. On a map it may not look far but due to the roads and safest routes you need to allow some driving days to get there.
- The Lower Omo Valley is easy to get to. You can even get a short and inexpensive flight to Jinka or Arbaminch. You can visit a great variety of tribal villages and nowhere else is there such a uniquely diverse group of tribes living so close together.
